A warm welcome back - hope you all had a wonderful time off.

The weather certainly tried to give us a challenge this week! Just to let you all know that it is the very last resort if I have to close the school. The decision to close schools is not one that is taken lightly. I see on social media that plenty of people who have nothing to do with education have strong opinions on what schools should and shouldn’t do. I campaign hard to keep my school open in whatever circumstances should safety allow. We, as a staff, share that belief.

I see the phrase “Snow Day” and it really makes me bristle as there is no such thing. I know my stance is probably not what the children want to hear! Especially in the snow! So I am glad I didn’t have to put any thought into this, this week.

As a result, we have had a settled first week here at school . Lots to look forward to this term for the children.
